Pre/Post Natal Training

Empower Fitness’ Prenatal and Postnatal Personal Training is a safe and effective workout program customized for women who are prenatal, pregnant or postpartum.

Pre-Post Natal physical fitness training

Creating a healthy and active lifestyle through exercise is a perfect way for women to have a healthy pregnancy, easy delivery and return to their normal lifestyle postpartum.

As a personal trainer who is certified in prenatal and postnatal training, I have an abundance of experience working with women in all different stages of motherhood.

As your body makes changes, so will your training program, but the ultimate goal is to keep you healthy, energetic and pain-free throughout the course of your pregnancy and beyond.

Prenatal and Postnatal Personal Training is not a one size fits all program. Every woman is unique. That is why I take so much pride in my specialized programming. My goal is to provide you with the coaching, guidance and motivation you need to tackle you and your baby’s health through fitness.

I offer in studio training, as well as online coaching if you are not in the San Diego area.

As always, consult with your doctor before starting any exercise plan.

Published research continues to mount supporting the idea that exercise is not only safe during pregnancy, but that exercise provides many benefits to both mother and baby. Studies have shown women who exercise at a mild to moderate intensity for at least 30 minutes three or more times a week will experience the following positive effects:

  • Less physical discomfort (reduced chance of constipation, hemorrhoids, bloating, swelling, leg cramps)
  • Improved self-image, mood and posture
  • Increased energy
  • Better sleep
  • Better muscle tone, strength and endurance
  • Less overall body fat
  • Reduced risk of gestational diabetes
  • Reduced risk of pregnancy-induced hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Less time in the pushing phase of delivery — New study shows regular exercise during pregnancy shortens labor by 50 minutes
  • Lower incidence of Caesarean section birth
  • Fewer obstetric interventions

Exercise is a plus for postpartum moms too. Women who continue their exercise program after delivery experience positive benefits, and those who start working out for the first time after their babies are born have:

  • Quicker return to pre-pregnancy shape
  • Lower incidences of postpartum blues or depression
  • Better quality of sleep
  • Less physical discomfort in “new mommy” muscles (back, arms and shoulders)
  • Faster recovery from pregnancy, labor and delivery (abdominal, pelvic floor, etc.)
