How will I receive my custom macro calculation?

Your custom macro calculation will come by email from empower-fitness.net. Be sure to add empower-fitness.net to your email's Safe List.This purchase does not include virtual or telephone consults.

What is the difference between hiring Kari Schaffner for one-on-one coaching and the custom macro calculation?

The Custom Macro Calculation is a one-time calculation and does not come with follow-up consults, whereas one-on-one coaching is highly individualized. Coaching cycles are three months in length and include: review and feedback on your current habits, health assessments and food diary reviews, individualized plan development, virtual consultations, video check-ins, plan evolution and adjustments according to your goals, weekly support, accountability and questions as needed by messenger app.

If my activity level significantly changed after submitting my custom macro calculation, should I change my macros?

The goal is always to be eating as much food as possible while seeing changes in your body shape or size. If you are not able to be as physically active as you typically are for an extended period of time (12 weeks or more), you may choose to increase your NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis). NEAT is all the activity that falls outside of formal exercise like walking, standing, and generally moving around throughout the day. Often, by increasing non-exercise activity, you are able to continue to see the intended changes you’d like to see in your body despite being less physically active through formal exercise. I do not recommend cutting calories or macros when you are temporarily less active than you typically are.

Do I need to change my macros if I am sick, get injured or undergo surgery?

No change in macros is typically needed if you get sick or injured, or undergo surgery. Your main priority in these circumstances should be to eat an abundance of whole foods to support your metabolism and heal properly. It is best to follow your macro prescription as normal.

I’ve never tracked macros before, can I still benefit from getting a custom macro calculation?

Absolutely! Having a personalized-to-you set of macro targets to start out with when you first start tracking will reduce most of the frustration and challenges that come with being new to tracking. There are also several “how to” guides for tracking macros available online, or consider reviewing some of my ARTICLES as as well for getting started.

Will there be a meal plan attached to my macronutrient prescription?

The custom macro calculation is not a meal plan service. I will not recommend specific foods or meals that you should be eating on a regular basis. You are encouraged to find foods that you enjoy and fit them into your prescribed macro goals. General macro meal planning resources will accompany the email with your custom macro calculation in the form of blogs and printable documents.
